Bangladesh-China joint exhibition starts at Shilpakala Academy

Marking the 70th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, a two-week joint exhibition of Bangladesh-China has begun on Friday at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.

Education Minister of Bangladesh Dr Dipu Moni inaugurated the grand art exhibition as chief guest at the National Art Gallery Auditorium at 5pm. Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming, State Minister for Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh K M Khalid, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, Bangladesh-China Friendship Centre Chairman Md Delwar Hossain and Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh Chairman Lin Weiqiang attended the inaugural ceremony as special guests.

During the ceremony, renowned Chinese dance troupe from Yunnan, Huadeng Opera Theater performed several dance performances.

Besides, an award ceremony also held to distribute the prizes among the winners of a children’s art competition which took place last year.

The two-week exhibition is being arranged in four segments at different galleries of the venue. The segments include--‘Our Silk Road’ and ‘Beautiful China’ photo exhibitions, the 18th ‘Dreamland China’ Bangladesh children art competition and exhibition, ‘Express your Chinese Story by Painting’ youth art exhibition and ‘Bangladesh and China on the Belt and Road” photo exhibition.

Organised by the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, in association with China Media Group, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh and Bangladesh-China Friendship Center and other organizations, the joint exhibition will continue till October 10.
