"Masud Rana" creator Qazi Anwar Hussain dies

Qazi Anwar Hussain, the popular writer of the detective series, Masud Rana, died on Wednesday afternoon. He was 86.

He was undergoing treatment at the city’s BIRDEM hospital after suffering a heart attack and a stroke.
He also suffered from prostate cancer.

Besides “Masud Rana”, Qazi Anwar Hussain penned many other thrillers and adventure stories.

Through his popular fictional works and publications company, Sheba Prokashoni, he created a generation of readers in Bangladesh.

He was son of the late National Professor Qazi Motahar Hussain and obtained his graduate and postgraduate degrees in Bangla from Dhaka University.
